The Primary Care Women's Health Forum (PCWHF) has released new guidance on the management of Heavy Menstrual Bleeding (HMB) in primary care.
HMB can interfere with a woman's physical, social, emotional and/or material quality of life. It can occur alone or in combination with other symptoms. It is a common condition, however, is often surrounded by stigma. HMB affects 1 in 5 women, and 43% take time off work due to heavy bleeding. It is one of the most common reasons for referral into our community gynaecology services.
